What’s the most fun way to exercise?

Having music literally running through my veins, any kind of fun for me to involve TUNES!

When music begins to play, I begin to move. I wasn’t even aware of it until someone pointed it out to me. Weill in that case, the best form of exercise is to DANCE!

When I had an MCL sprain and had to go to physical therapy, I put some tunes on my phone and did all my exercises to music, It made the job so much easier. Instead of a chore, I got done quicker.

Exercise in general seems like such a chore and not much fun to me; so crank up the tunes and let’s get moving!

Back in the 80’s aerobics was a thing and part of the reason was it involved workouts to music. These days stationary bicycle riding, Zumba, and even water aerobics all include playing music to get and keep people interested.

If you ever have any doubts that music and dance is a workout, check out an episode or two of “Dancing with the Stars”. While the pros barely break a sweat anymore, the are so conditioned to the dance; the “celebrities” are huffing and puffing like the Big Bad Wolf and answer questions from the hosts at the same time.

People believe that professional athletes are in really good shape because they are always working out and playing their particular sport; but while they spend a lot of time in the gym, their stamina comes into question.

Back when “Fame” was on the television, there was an episode where the school board came to the School of the Arts and asked why there was no gym or PE classes and insisted that it needed to be a part of the curriculum. Dance teacher Lydia Grant (played by Debbie Allen) challenged the ruling and pit her dancers against a local high school football team. The boys barely lasted five minutes before they were gasping for air and collapsing on the floor; mean while the dancers spent the whole hour on the dance floor. The school board recsinded the PE requirement.

Some “experts” say that walking is the best exercise…

NOPE

It’s DANCING!!!
