It was a triple header weekend at Martinsville that was filled with overtime finishes, anniversaries, and plenty of $2 hot dogs!
While William Byron won his third race of the season to help Rick Hendrick celebrate 40 years as a car owner. Back in 1984, Hendrick had one final shot being a car owner in NASCAR. Geoff Bodine got behind the wheel and won the race for win number one; since then HMS has won over 300 races.
Not only did William Byron win the race in overtime fashion for the special weekend, three of the four HMS drivers made history by finishing 1-2-3…a first at Martinsville.
