A little over 50 years ago, the rock band Deep Purple released the single “Smoke on the Water”; the story of a burning hotel – one where they were going to record their album.  The song became a big hit for the band.  But they are only ow releasing the official video for the song.

The rockers have planned a tour in the fall with Jefferson Starship as the opening band for the European shows and Reef opening the UK dates.  Deep Purple will also launching some touring dates prior to the “=1 More Time Tour” in the fall that includes many festival appearances.

On March 29 Deep Purple is releasing an expanded Super Deluxe edition of their album “Machine Head”.
