In Tuesday’s penalty report, NASCAR issued a two race suspension to members of RFK Racing after the number 17 car driven by Chris Buescher lost a wheel during the Penzoil 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The loss of the front right tire on lap 28 caused Buescher to hit the wall and ended his day on the track.
RFK Racing has appealed the suspension of jackman Nicholas Patterson and front tire changer Jakob Prall.
Last season NASCAR amended the ruling relating to a lost wheel to only issue suspension when the wheel is lost on the racing surface but not on pit road.
