In a delayed event, the NASCAR Xfinity Series had to wait two hours for track drying before they could take to the track to qualify for the United Rentals 300. 

The field will be set after only one round of qualifying for a race that also has an altered start time.  Originally scheduled for 5pm, the race will begin at 4pm in order to beat out any precipitation.  A total of 44 teams brought cars to Daytona for 38 starting spots.

The first driver on the track was Brennan Poole who posted a time of 50.440 seconds.

Jeremy Clements was the first driver to break the 50 second mark with a time of 49.921 seconds.

With a time of 49.702 seconds, rookie Jesse Love puts his number two car on the pole.  Fellow rookie Shane van Gisbergen will start the race in the top five with a time of 49,830 seconds.

David Starr has been disqualified after post qualifying inspection revealed a ride height issue.

Joey Gase, Caesar Bacarella, CJ McLaughlin, Kyle Sieg, and Stanton Barrett failed to qualify for the race.

After numerous delays due to rain storms, the Xfinity Series finally gets on the track to race; following the Monday edition of the Daytona 500.

Stages one and two of the race are 30 laps each with stage three lasting 60 laps.  The drivers can run 45 to 50 laps on a single load of fuel.

Several of the drivers in the race have just gotten out of their Cup Series cars after running the Daytona 500.

Jesse Love brings the field down for the green flag start of the race from the outside row with Austin Hill alongside. 

Lap three, Jesse Love leads the race with Austin Hill in second; Parker Kligerman, Justin Allgaier, and John Hunter Nemechek round out the top five.

Lap six, Jesse Love has led every lap so far with Austin Hill on his bumper; Parker Kligerman, Justin Allgaier, and Anthony Alfredo round out the top five.

Lap 12, Jesse Love continues to lead the race with Austin Hill right behind; Parker Kligerman, Justin Allgaier, and Anthony Alfredo continue to round out the top five.

The 19-year-old Jesse Love ran a full ARCA schedule last year; winning 10 of the 20 races in the season to win the championship.

Lap 15, halfway in stage one, Jesse Love has led every lap so far with teammate Austin Hill in second place; Parker Kligerman, Justi Allgaier, and Anthony Alfredo round out the top five.

Anthony Alfredo moved down to the inside but no one went with him.

Ten laps remain in stage one and the drivers are spreading out trying to get the second lane working; Jesse Love continues to lead the race.

The first caution flag of the night comes out on lap 23 after a crash involving Sam Mayer, Kyle Weatherman, Hailie Deegan, and Daniel Suarez.

Some of the drivers short pit the end of the stage and come down pit road for service including top five driver Justin Allgaier.

Some of the drivers are reporting a loose condition in their cars.

After staying out on the track, AJ Allmendinger brings the field down for the start of stage two on lap 36 with Justin Allgaier alongside.  Allmendinger gets out in front for the lead. 

Anthony Alfredo was charged with having an uncontrolled tire on pit road and has to restart the race from the back of the field.

Making his Xfinity Series debut, Shane van Gisbergen is in sixth place.

Actor Frankie Muniz is also making his Xfinity Series debut tonight.

Lap 37, Justin Allgaier gets out in front for the lead. 

The caution flag comes out on lap 37 for a big wreck.  Reports are John Hunter Nemechek made a hard turn to start the melee.  Jess Love, Parker Kligerman, AJ Allmendinger, Austin Hill, Sammy Smith, Daniel Dye, Josh Williams, Frankie Muniz, and Shane van Gisbergen were all involved.

The crews have six minutes to make repairs to the cars.

Josh Williams’ car has been pushed behind the wall and is out of the race.

Justin Allgaier brings the field down for the green flag restart on lap 43 with Cole Custer alongside.  Allgaier gets out in front after a push from Riley Herbst.

In a three wide battle, Cole Custer takes the lead with Riley Herbst in second; Justin Allgaier, Chandler Smith, and Blaine Perkins round out the top five.

The drivers are three wide through the field.

Justin Allgaier has a flat tire and brings out the caution flag. 

Cole Custer reports that there was a piece of debris on the track he was trying to avoid.

Cole Custer brings the field down for the green flag restart on lap 49 and goes side by side with Parker Retzlaff.  Retzlaff gets out in front.

Lap 50, Jeb Burton takes the lead.

The top five are Jeb Burton, Austin Hill, Sammy Smith, Ryan Sieg, and Sheldon Creed.

John Hunter Nemechek brings out the caution flag on lap 51 with a blown tire and makes contact with Josh Bilicki and Dawson Cram.

Drivers come down pit road for service. 

Austin Hill was caught speeding on pit road and a safety violation for the way he entered his pit stall.  He will have to restart the race from the back of the field.

After staying out on the track, Jesse Love leads the race with Sammy Smith on the inside lane with 54 laps remaining in the race.  Sammy Smith gets out in front for the lead after a little push from Sheldon Creed.

The top five are Sammy Smith, Jesse Love, Sheldon Creed, Brandon Jones, and AJ Allmendinger.

With53 laps to go, Sammy Smith leads the race with Sheldon Creed and AJ Allmendinger in a battle for second; Riley Herbst and Ryan Sieg round out the top five.

AJ Allmendinger gets out in front briefly before Sammy Smith retakes the lead with 51 to go.

Fifty to go, Sammy Smith leads the race with AJ Allmendinger in second; Riley Herbst, Ryan Sieg, and Sheldon Creed round out the top five.  After getting involved in an early crash and a flat tire, Justin Allgaier is back on the lead lap and in the top 10.

With 45 laps remaining in the race, drivers begin making their final pit stops.

With leader Sammy Smith making a pit stop, Riley Herbst is the new leader.

Forty-three laps to go and green flag pit stops continue.

Forty-two to go, the top 10 drivers have yet to come down pit road.

Riley Herbst makes his pit stop and gives the lead over to Sheldon Creed.

Sheldon Creed comes down pit road for service; giving the lead over to Natalie Decker.

With 38 laps to go, Natalie Decker, Ryan Ellis, and Garrett Smithley have yet to make their pit stops.

Thirty-three to go, leaders still have not made their pt stops; the top five are Ryan Ellis, Garrett Smithley, Natalie Decker, Riley Herbst, and Chandler Smith.

Just 30 laps to go, Ryan Ellis, Garrett Smthley, nd Ntale Decker still have not makde their pit stops.  Riley Herbst is the first driver wo has made a pit stop and can make t to the end of therace.

Just 26 laps remain in the race with the leaders still needing to make a pit stop.

Jeb Burton brings out the caution flag with 24 laps remaining in the race when he spins out after some contact from behind.  He as in the grass but made it out.

Shane van Gisbergen also made a run through the grass but got out okay.

The drivers who needed to make a pit stop come down pit road for service.

Austin Hill comes down pit road noting that something didn’t feel right…he had a tire going down.

Ryan Ellis and Natalie Decker were charged with improper entry penalties and will have to restart the race from the back of the field.

Ryan Sieg leads the race and brings the field down for the green flag restart with just 18 laps remaining in the race with Riley Herbst alongside.  Riley Herbst gives Ryan Sieg a big push for the lead.  

There are 27 cars on the lead lap.

The eighth caution of the race comes out with 17 laps to go.  Shange van Gisbergen, Garrett Smithley, Parker Retzlaff, Jeb Burton, Jeremy Clements, and Leland Honeyman were all involved.

Leland Honeyman’s car is on the wrecker and out of the race.

Ryan Sieg brings the field down for the green flag restart with Riley Herbst alongside.  There are just eleven laps remaining in the race.  Riley Herbst gets a push from Cole Custer to take the lead.

Ten to go, drivers are making their move.

NASCAR has charged Riley Herbst for a restart violation and will have to serve a pass through penalty.

The caution flag comes out for another crash involving Justin Allgaier, Daniel Dye Sage Karem, Cole Custer, and Brennan Poole.  Sage Karem and Daniel Dye are stuck in the grass.

The crews are having difficulty getting Daniel Dye’s car out of the mud.

Jordan Anderson brings the field down for the green flag restart with just three laps remaining in the race.  Chandler Smith gets out in front for the lead from the inside lane.

Austin Hill comes up to take the lead with two laps remaining in the race.

Austin Hill takes the white flag.

There’s a big crash but no yellow flag.

Austin Hill wins the race with Sheldon Creed in second.  Jordan Aderson brings his car across the finish line in third.  This was Hill’s third Daytona win in a row.
