It’s the 25th anniversary for the Craftsman Truck Series at Daytona International Speedway. Forty teams have brought trucks to Daytona for 36 starting spots in the Fresh from Florida 250.

The first driver out on the track is Spencer Boyd who posted a time of 51.210 seconds around the 2.5 mile high banked track. 

The top 10 drivers will move on to a second round of qualifying to set the pole for the race under the lights.

After the first round of qualifying, Jennifer JO Cobb, Mason Maggio, Ryan Huff, and Clay Greenfield did not qualify for the race.

Daniel Dye kicks off round two of qualifying and posts a time of 50.641 seconds.

With a time of 50.345 seconds Ty Majeski put his number 98 truck on the pole with Johnny Sauter alongside on the front row.

The 250 mile race is 100 laps with stages one and two lasting only 20 laps each and stage three 60 laps in length.  The drivers can run 30 to 35 laps on a single load of fuel.

Ben Rhodes has to start the race from the back of the field after the crew had to make some adjustments to the truck.

Ty Majeski brings the field down for the green flag start of the race from the inside lane with Johnny Sauter on the outside.  Majeski gets out in front quickly but Sauter comes up on the outside to challenge for the lead.  The drivers are double file through the field.

Lap two, Ty Majeski is the leader with Johnny Sauter in second; Corey LaJoie, Mat Mills, and Nick Sanchez round out the top five.  Majeski and Sauter swap the lead back and forth.

Lap three, Johnny Sauter is the leader.  Drivers are beginning to get three wide across the track.

The hood is damaged on Matt Mills’ truck and is falling through the field.

Lap five, Johnny Sauter leads the race with Ty Majeski in second; Coey LaJoie, Tyler Ankrum, and Daniel Dye round out the top five.

The first caution flag of the race comes out for “The Big One”.  Thad Moffitt climbs out if his damaged truck.  Ty Dillon is also out of his truck. 

A bump from Christian Eckes into the back of Matt Crafton’s truck started the melee that caught up 12 trucks.  Nick Sanchez, Grant Enfinger, Jake Garcia, Tanner Gray, Ty Dillon, Keith, McGee, Lawless Alan, Layne Riggs, Thad Moffitt, Stewart Friesen, Rajah Caruth, and Matt Crafton were all involved in the crash.

Johnny Sauter brings the field down for the green flag restart on lap 13.  Ty Majeski and Johnny Sauter battle for the lead; swapping back and forth.

Lap 14, the top five are Johnny Sauter, Ty Majeski, Tyler Ankrum, aniel Dye, and Bayley Currey.

Lap 15, Ty Majeski is the leader; Johnny Sauter and Tyler Ankrum battle for second.

Lap 16 Johnny Sauter is back in the lead.

The caution flag comes out on lap 16 for an issue involving Lawless Alan who is stopped on the track briefly with a flat tire.

Johnny Sauter brings the field down for a one lap shootout to end stage one with Sauter edging out for the lead on the outside lane.  Drivers are getting three wide across the track.

Johnny Sauter wins stage one.  This is his fifth Daytona stage win to lead all drivers.

Some of the drivers come down pit road for fuel; but some stay out on the track.

After staying out on the track, Ty Majeski brings the field down for the green flag start of stage two from the outside lane with Tyler Ankrum on the inside on lap 27.  Ankrum gets out in front for the lead with Christian Eckes in second; Ben Rhodes, Corey LaJoie, and Matt Crafton round out the top five.

Concerned about fuel, Ty Majeski drops out of the top 10.

Lap 30, Tyler Ankrum leads the race with Christian Eckes in second; Ben Rhodes, Matt Crafton, and Corey LaJoie round out the top five.

Daniel Dye moves up the track and bumps Corey LaJoie but they save the trucks and the track stays green.

Lap 31, Ben Rhodes takes the lead after starting the race from the back of the field.

The caution flag comes out on lap 32 for debris on the field – a tire carcass.  Stewart Friesen is on pit road for a tire change.

Some drivers come down pit road for fuel.

Matt Mills was charged with improper driver assist and will have to restart the race from the back of the field.  The crew member that came over the wall to aid Mills also made an adjustment to the truck; which is against the rules.

Johnny Sauter also received a pit road penalty.

Tyler Ankrum brings the field down for the green flag restart of the race on lap 38 with Ben Rhodes alongside.  With a big push from Christian Eckes, Tyler Ankrum takes the lead.

The caution flag comes out on lap 39 for precipitation – it is misting on the track.

Stage two ends under caution, giving Tyler Ankrum the win.

NASCAR brings the field down pit road and displays the red flag.

According to the NASCAR rule book, a race is complete once it reaches either halfway or the end of stage two.

After a short red flag, NASCAR displays the caution flag and the trucks get moving again.  Daniel Dye was stalled and needed a push to get started.

Drivers come down pit road with Bryan Dauzat winning the race off of pit road.

Ty Majeski’s crew was charged with coming over the wall too soon.

Bret Holmes brings the field down for the green flag start of stage three with Johnny Sauter alongside on lap 45.  Bret Holmes gets out in front for the lead with Johnny Sauter in second.

Tanner Gray comes up on the outside lane to take the lead.

Lap 46, Bret Holmes retakes the lead.

The caution flag comes out on lap 47 when Keith McGee gets into the grass after hitting the wall and spinning out.

Some of the drivers come down pit road to top off the fuel.

Bret Holmes brings the field down for the green flag restart  with Johnny Sauter alongside on lap 52.  Sauter edges out in front after a push from behind.

The outside lane moves up led by Bret Holmes and battles with Johnny Sauter for the lead.

Lap 53, the drivers are getting three wide across the track with Bret Holmes lead on the inside lane.

Lap 54, Corey LaJoie moves up on the outside to battle with Bret Holmes for the lead but moves in line on the inside lane.

Lap 55, the top five are Bret Holmes, Johnny Sauter, Bayley Currey, Taylor Gray and Jack Wood.

The caution flag comes out on lap 57 for another crash that collects up leader Bret Holmes.  Bayley Currey was also involved and hit the inside “safer” barrier.

Johnny Sauter is the new leader.

Drivers come down pit road for service.  With 41 laps remaining in the race, the drivers may not be able to make it to the end of the race…depending on caution flags and overtime.

Nick Sanchez brings the field down for the green flag restart with Johnny Sauter alongside on lap 61.  Sanchez gets out in front for the lead with Taylor Gray on his bumper.

Lap 61, the top five are Nick Sanche, Taylor Gray, Johnny Sauter, Matt Crafton, and Daniel Dye.

Drivers are three wide across the track and pushing aggressively in a battle for position.

Lap 65, Ben Rhodes battles with Nick Sanchez for the lead.

Reigning champ Ben Rhodes started the race at the back of the field and is now leading the race with Christian Eckes in second; Nick Sanchez, Taylor Gray, and Corey LaJoie round out the top five.

Lap 68, Johnny Sauter and Ben Rhodes battle for the lead; swapping it back and forth.

Lap 69, Johnny Sauter gets out in front for the lead.

Ben Rhodes comes down pit road, screaming tire tire to his crew.  They change two tires; putting Rhodes a lap down.

Lap 71, Chase Purdy takes the lead with Nick Sanchez in second; Christian Eckes, Taylor Gray, and Corey LaJoie round out the top five.

Lap 73, Ben Rhodes brings out the caution flag when he crashes and scatters the field.  He was trying to get out of the way with a blown tire.  He made contact with Tanner Gray as he moved back through the field. 

Ben Rhodes is out of his truck…and out of the race.

With just 23 laps remaining in the race, Corey LaJoie brings the field down for the green flag restart.  Nick Sanchez dives down to take the lead after a big push from Christian Eckes.

The caution flag comes out for another wreck with 21 laps to go.  Johnny Sauter, Dean Thompson, Christian Eckes, Corey LaJoie, and Stefan Parsons were all involved.

Nick Sanchez brings the field down for the green flag restart with just 16 laps remaining in the race with Corey LaJoie alongside.  Snchez gets a push to get out in front for the lead.

The top five are Nick Sanchez, Taylor Gray, Jack Wood, Ty Majeski, and Bret Holmes.

The tenth caution flag of the night comes out when Toni Breidinger and Dean Thompson crash.  Mason Massey was also involved.

Nick Sanchez brings the field down for the green flag restart with just nine laps remaining in the race.  Corey LaJoie gives Rajah Caruth a push and puts him way out in front.  Taylor Gray pushes Nick Sanchez to the lead.

Eight to go, Nick Sanchez leads the race with Tylor Gray in second; Rajah Caruth, Corey LaJoie, and Jack Wood round out the top five.

Rajah Caruth and Nick Sanchez make contact but they save the trucks.

The eleventh caution flag of the night comes out for a crash involving a flaming Chase Purdy, Tyler Ankrum, and Christian Eckes were all involved in the crash.

Nick Sanchez brings the field down for the green flag restart for the overtime shootout for the win.  Sanchez edges out in front but Rajah Caruth gets a push from Corey LaJoie to put Caruth out in front.

Nick Sanchez takes the white flag.

Taylor Gray spins out and flies through the air to bring out the caution flag.  Corey Lajoie, Christian Eckes, Bayley Currey, Matt Crafton, and Daniel Dye were also caught up in the wreck.  Gray is out of his truck.

Nick Sanchez wins the race under caution.  This is only his second year in the truck series.
