Latin music artist Pitbull is more than just a part owner in Trackhouse Racing; he is always ready to jump in and offer up some musical entertainment to the fans.
Daytona International Speedway announced that Pitbull would be the pre-race entertainment on February 18 to kick of the festivities of the Great American Race – the Daytona 500.
DIS president Frank Kelleher spoke on bringing the artist to the track saying, “there’s no bett way to get the energy flowing than with Pitbull performing our pre-race concert for the Daytona 500. Pitbull has continued to release major hits for over a decade and has shown tremendous longevity as an artist over the years. He’ll bring all the South Florida vibes and culture up here to put on quite the show for the 66th running of ‘The Great American Race’.”
Since becoming a part owner in Trackhouse Racing with Justin Marks, Pitbull has been releasing a series of “Trackhouse” albums. His next edition of the series will be released next month and is called “Trackhouse: Daytona 500 Edition” in what he calls reflecting the key elements of NASCAR’s biggest race.
Pitbull (born Armando Christian Perez) spoke on performing at Daytona saying, “it’s an honor to once again be part of the ‘Great American Race’, this time performing at the Daytona 500.”
Known as “Mr. Worldwide”, Pitbull has won a total of 46 awards, billions of YouTube views, and has sold 25 million albums. He also has three singles that have topped the billion stream mark on Spotify.
Pitbull is currently touring with Enrique Iglesias and Ricky Martin.
Speedweek begins on Valentine’s Day with qualifying to set the pole and front row.
The Bluegreen Vacations begin at 7pm to set the remainder of the field.
On February 16, the Craftsman Truck Series takes to the track at 3pm for qualifying and the Fresh from Florida 250 begins at 7:30pm.
On February 17 the day begins with qualifying for the Xfinity Series at 11:30am. The ARCA race begins at 1:30pm; followed by the United Rentals 300 Xfinity Race at 5pm.
The event culminate on February 18 with the grand event itself – the Daytona 500 – with engines cranking at 2:30pm.
