When the 40 drivers take to the track for the Daytona 500 on February 18, only a handful of them will be hoping to repeat as the winner.  Of the seven drivers who are previous 500 winners, one of them is now a part time driver and one is a three time winner; the other five have a single 500 win.

Seven time champion and NASCAR Hall of Famer Jimmy Johnson has officially retired as a full time driver but continues to run a few races each year.  The two time Daytona 500 winner – 2006 and 2013 – is looking to make the field and notch his third 500 win.

A two time Cup Series champion, Joey Logano has a single 500 win in 2015.  He joins 2018 winner Austin Dillon, 2021 winner Michael McDowell, 2022 winner Austin Cindric, and defending champion Ricky Stenhouse Jr as active drivers with one Daytona 500 win.

While he hasn’t won a series championship just yet, Denny Hamlin has notched three Daytona 500 wins in 2016, 2019, and 2020 to lead the list of active drivers sporting a Harley J Earle trophy in their cases.
