Ken Squier named the Daytona 500 “The Great American Race”.  For many racers it is the Super Bowl of NASCAR.

It is nearly three months before NASCAR comes to Daytona for Speedweek and the fans are already gearing up for the beginning of the 2024 racing season.  But NASCAR fans have already bought out the grandstands and the camping grounds.  A few years ago, Daytona was reconfigured and updated; it now has a grandstand capacity of 123,500.

This marks the earliest date that the track has sold out for a Daytona 500.  It is the ninth year in a row that the track has sold out for the 500.

A limited number of packages are still available in the Fanzone, the Daytona 500 Club, and 31 Degrees.  Tickets are also available for all of the other races taking place during Speedweek.

Daytona International Speedway President Frank Kelleher spoke on the Daytona 500 saying, “our fans continue to impress year after year, but the rate at which the 2024 Daytona 500 has sold out is a true testament to what this race represents.  It’s anticipation that builds throughout the year and into the offseason, then all comes together for a week of pure entertainment, competition and this passionate feeling you don’t get anywhere else but The World Center of Racing. We can’t wait to have a full house of race fans for the NASCAR season opener.”

Ricky Stenhouse Jr will return to Daytona to defend his win alongside NASCAR regulars, and a new class of rookies after several teams switched drivers or replaced retired drivers over the off season.  Kevin Harvick returns to Daytona, but this time as a commentator for FOX after retiring at the end of the season.

Speedweek kicks off on February 14 with qualifying.  Over the next week, Daytona will host the dual races, an ARCA race, a Truck Series race, the Xfinity race, and the Daytona 500.
