The 2023 racing season brought more than just the 75th anniversary; a number of milestones were reached by drivers, teams, and owners. Among them was the 300th win for Hendricks Motorsports team owner Rick Hendrick.
But in the history of NASCAR where does that number put Hendrick in the top 10 of winningest team owners?
Holding down tenth place is Stewart-Haas Racing with just 69 Cup Series wins. SHR has not won a race since August 2022 when now retired driver Kevin Harvick won the race at Richmond Raceway.
A team that no longer exists – Holman Moody – has the number nine spot with 96 total team wins. Bobby Allison earned the last win in 1971.
In eighth place, Wood Brothers Racing earned race win number 99 back in 2017 when Ryan Blaney won the race at Pocono Raceway. They have been searching for number 100 ever since.
Richard Childress Racing is in seventh place with 116 wins; the last of which was won by new RCR driver Kyle Busch at World Wide Technology Raceway in June. It was one of three race wins for Busch in the 2023 season.
Another team that no longer exists is Junior Johnson and Associates in the number sixth place with 132 wins. Awesome Bill of Dawsonville – Bill Elliott – won the last wins for Johnson at Darlington in 1994.
Kicking off the top five, Team Penske owner Roger Penske won race number 139 in the next to the last race of the season when Ryan Blaney raced his way into the Championship Four at Martinsville Raceway.
Joining the team as an owner and driver last year, Roush Racing is now Roush Fenway Keselowski Racing. With the help of Chris Buescher winning races this past season, RFK is in fourth place with 141 wins.
Proving to be as successful in the racing paddock as he was on the grid iron, Joe Gibbs Racing has amassed a total of 208 wins with the last coming this season when Christopher Bell notched his spot in the playoffs with a win at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
Not surprising after a total of 200 wins by Richard Petty, Petty Enterprises has 268 total wins. Going through a number of changes; including names, over the past few years Petty Enterprises is now the Legacy Motor Club.
And sitting at the top of the list with a total of 301 wins is Rick Hendrick and Hendrick Motor Sports. Kyle Larson earned win number 301 during the playoffs at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in October.
