After the race at Homestead-Miami the Championship Four for the Craftsman Truck Series was set.  This past weekend, the Xfinity and Cup Series set their Championship Four for the final weekend of the 2023 NASCAR season.

On Saturday in the Xfinity Series Justin Allgaier edged out Cole Custer in a photo finish win to secure his spot in the Championship Four.  Sam Mayer and Justin Allgaier earned spots via race wins with John Hunter Nemechek and Cole Custer getting in on points.

While the points have been reset to 4,000; the only thing that will matter in the race at Phoenix on Saturday is which of the four championship drivers will finish in front of the others.

After Denny Hamlin dominated the race at Martinsville on Sunday, it was Ryan Blaney who earned the win…and the grandfather clock…securing himself a spot in the championship four.  Christopher Bell and Kyle Larson also earned spots via a race win with Wiliam Byron earning a spot to fight for the championship via points.  Despite having an ill handling car all day, Byron managed to earn enough points to keep Denny Hamlin out of the championship race once again.

The four drivers that will be competing for the championship on Sunday are Ryan Blaney, Christopher Bell, Kyle Larson, and William Byron.  Whichever of the four drivers finish in front of the others will be the 2023 Cup Series champion.

With all of the drivers under the age of 30, it is the youngest field ever in a battle for the championship.  Kyle Larson has already earned a championship; but it is the first for the other three drivers.

In the Craftsman Truck Series Corey Heim, Carson Hocevar, Ben Rhodes, and Grant Enfinger will all be competing for the championship on Friday night.
