Already below the cut line as the round of eight of the playoffs begins, Ryan Blaney’s trip to the championship four just got a lot harder.
After post race inspection, NASCAR disqualified the Team Penske number 12 car for violating the NASCAR rule book Section 14.11.3.5 – the left-front damper on the No. 12 car did not meet the overall specified length.
Asa result of the disqualification, Blaney is placed in the last place position and has the eight stage points during the race stripped. Blaney is now 69 points below the cut line in eighth place.
If Blaney has any hope of making the championship four, he will have win either the race next week at Homestead-Miami or on the paperclip at Martins ille.
