Superfans are always looking for ways to collect memorabilia from their favourite artists.  The auction house is a place where fans can find numerous items up for bid including iconic instruments…and even a vehicle or two.

For the past 20 years Julien’s has been the leading auction house when it comes to collecting rock and roll memorabilia.  And their upcoming auction – “PLAYED, WORN, & TORN: ROCK ‘N’ ROLL ICONIC GUITARS AND MEMORABILIA” – is looking to present some extraordinary opportunities for music fans.

Topping the list is Eric Clapton’s “The Fool” – a1964 Gibson SG electric guitar played while with Cream and estimated at $1,000,000 to $2,000,000 – and Kurt Cobain’s “Skystang I” – a blue left-handed Fender Mustang electric guitar – which Cobain played in his final public performance as a part of the Utero tour.  It is estimated at $1,000,000 – $2,000,000.

The event begins with a special night session on November 16 and will continue through November 18 live at the Music City at Hard Rock in Nashville and online at Julien’s Live.

Julien’s is offering over 1,000 pieces of memorabilia up for auction from a Who’s Who list of music legends including Kurt Cobain, Nirvana, Eric Clapton, Elvis Presley, Prince, The Beatles, Paul McCartney, John Lennon, Janis Joplin, Pete Townshend, Johnny Cash, Albert King, Dolly Parton, Eddie Van Halen, Frank Zappa, Dee Dee Ramone, Maurice Gibb of the Bee Gees, Johnny Rotten of the Sex Pistols, Slash from Guns N’ Roses, and Kirk Hammett of Metallica.

Among the items up for auction:
-The Fender Stratocaster Kurt Cobain smashed in Nirvana’s 1992 performance in Buenos Aires.  The guitar includes a poem written by drummer Dave Grohl on the guitar.  Clothing worn by Cobain is also up for auction.
