Earlier in the season, Craftsman Truck Series driver Matt DiBenedetto announced that he would not be returning to Rackley W.A.R. for the 2024 season.

DiBenedetto worked his way into the top 10 to make it in the playoffs for the first time but has been eliminated after the first round; along with Matt Crafton.

The following week Rackley W.A.R. announced that DiBenedetto was out of the number 25 truck for the remaining three races of the season.

On September 25, Rackley announced that Xfinity Series rookie Chandler Smith would be driving the 25 truck this coming weekend at Talladega Superspeedway.  DiBenedetto took the number 25 truck to victory in an overtime win at Talladega last year.

Smith spoke on being signed to drive the truck saying, “I’m super-grateful for Rackley W.A.R. giving me the opportunity to run their truck this weekend at Talladega.  Being able to represent Rackley Roofing, W.A.R. Shocks, and this entire organization, is extremely cool.  I’m definitely proud of and looking forward to the opportunity.”

The 20 year old has spent the past two seasons as a full time driver in the Truck Series after making his NASCAR debut at age 16.

Rackley co-owner Willie Allen spoke on Chandler Smith driving the truck at Talladega saying, “we are really excited to have Chandler in the truck this weekend at Talladega.  I’ve known Chandler and his family pretty much his whole life. They’re really good people and Chandler is a great driver. We’re looking forward to the weekend.”

Rackley has yet to name the driver for the number 25 truck at Homestead-Miami and Phoenix Raceway to end the 2023 season.
