With two days away from the annual All-Star game, Major League Baseball holds the annual college draft where young hopefuls dream of hearing their names called to play professional baseball.

Gathering not at the home of the Mariners, MLB takes over the home of the Seattle Seahawks for the first round of the 2023 MLB draft.

With the first pick of the 2023 draft, the Pittsburgh Pirates select LSU pitcher Paul Skenes.  He was voted the Most Valuable Player in the 2023 College World Series.

The Washington Nationals select LSU outfielder Dylan Crews. 

This is the first time in MLB draft history that the first two picks went to the same university.
