Driver Layne Riggs won the CARS Tour race on Wednesday night at Caraway Speedway; however, he has since been disqualified from that win; along with the car’s owner Kevin Harvick Inc.

Second place driver Jared Fryar has been named winner of the race and the remaining field – along with the prize money – will be adjusted accordingly.

Citing a technical issue, the CARS Tour said, officials found a part that was over tolerance on Layne Riggs’ winning car in post-race inspection.”

Motorsports journalist Matt Weaver added that “the car was found to have an over tolerance sway bar diameter.”

The CARS Tour reported that car owner Kevin Harvick Inc. admitted that it was an unintentional oversight with the part.  CARS Tour officials accepted KHI’s explanation.

Harvick’s Cup Series crew chief Rodney Childers served as the crew chief for the number 62 Late Model car and stated via Twitter that he misunderstood the rule”.

More than just a car owner, Harvick holds part ownership in the CARS Tour with Dale Earnhardt Jr, Jeff Burton, and Justin Marks.

The next CARS Tour race will not be until July 29.
