It has been two years since 10 people died during a crowd surge at a Travis Scott Astroworld concert in Houston, Texas. On June 29, 2023 a grand jury failed to indict the rap artist for the deaths.
Scott’s lawyer Ken Schaffer stated that the grand jury decided not to file any criminal charges in the case. Schaffer added, “he never encouraged people to do anything that resulted in other people being hurt.”
Federal and Houston police have been investigating whether concert promoters Live Nation and others involved in the event had appropriate safety measures in place to prevent any tragedies.
Schaffer expressed sympathy for the people who died adding, “but Travis is not responsible. Bringing criminal charges against him will not ease their pain.”
