Country music legend Randy Travis has crossed the genre lines not only with his songs but on the charts and with his massive collection of awards.  The Hall of Fame artist doesn’t need a trophy case for his collection, he needs an entire room to hold his large collection that includes seven Grammy’s, eleven Academy of Country Music awards, 10 American Music Awards, two People’s Choice awards, seven Music City News awards, eight Dove Awards from the Gospel Music Association and five Country Music Association awards.  He has sold over 25 million albums and is a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame.

And on May 27, as a part of the Cajun Country Jam’s Memorial Day Festival, Travis was inducted into the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame.  Under the name of Randy Ray, Travis re order his debut album at Paula Records in Shreveport.  He joins a special list of LMHOF members including  Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Louis Armstrong, Lucinda Williams, Buddy Guy, Little Richard, Fats Domino, and Tim McGraw.

Inducting artists under the categories of Native, Resident, and Contributing artists; the LMHOF works to preserve the heritage of music in Louisiana.  It honours achievement in talent, performance, writing, and technical and business aspects of the industry.
