In an age ruled by streaming music, musician Michael Jonathan created the series “Wood Songs Old Time Radio Hour” with an all volunteer crew.  Now he has created “Wood Songs Kids” where young talent gets an opportunity to perform before a live audience in what is being called “Mr. Rogers meets the “Grand Ole Opry”.

“Wood Songs Kids” has been awarded a Silver Award at the 44th Annual Telly Awards in just its first season.  Presented from the Lyric Theater in Lexington, Kentucky, “Wood Songs Kids” began airing earlier this month.

The 30 minute program opens with host Michael Jonathan and his eight year old daughter Makayla Rayne performing a song before young musicians around the country ranging from six to 16 perform and are interviewed by Jonathan in what he calls music from America’s front porch.

The Telly Awards are presented for excellence in video and television across all platforms.
