After the melee that was the final lap of the Geico 500 at Talladega Superspeedway, it took some time before NASCAR officials sorted everything out and released the official results from the race.  While there were no changes from the unofficial results released after the race, there were some changes back in the field.

Talladega and Daytona are known for “the big one” that frequently collects a good portion of the field into the crash in one way or another.  While the first part of the race was a double file 200 mile an hour freight train; the latter portions of the race resembled the Talladega of old with one big pile up to end the race when Bubba Wallace in a bid to go for the win tried blocking Ryan Blaney and got turned around instead, causing a big wreck.  A number of drivers also ran out of fuel on that final lap.
