This weekend the Xfinity and Cup Series drivers travel from the smallest to the largest track on the NASCAR circuit when they race on the 2.66 mile oval of Talladega Superspeedway.

Forty-two teams have brought cars to Talladega for the AG-Pro 300 for 38 starting spots.

This is also the third of four weeks in the Dash-4-Cash races where one of four drivers – Cole Custer, Josh Berry, John Hunter Nemechek, and Sammy Smith will take home the $100,000 prize.

Jay M White was the first driver on the track and posted a time of 53.682 seconds.

The top 10 drivers on time will move on to round two to determine who will sit on the pole.

Halfway through round one of qualifying, Anthony Alfredo sits at the top of the leaderboard with 52.693 seconds around the track.  Alfredo is the only driver so far to break the 53 second mark during a qualifying run.

After a flat tire during his qualifying lap, Parker Kligerman will not make a qualifying run and will have to start the race from the back of the field.

Austin Hill, Anthony Alfredo, Sheldon Creed, Jeb Burton, Parker Retzlaff, Daniel Hemric, Justin Allgaier, Jade Buford, Brett Moffitt, and John Hunter Nemechek will all move on to round two and battle it out for the pole.

Eight of the top 10 drivers are in Chevrolets.

David Starr, Jason White, Jesse Iwuji, and Mike Harmon failed to make the race.

Brett Moffitt is the first of the drivers out for round two and posted a time of 53.016 seconds.

Joining his Richard Childress Racing teammate on the front row, Austin Hill sits on the pole with a time of 52.483 seconds with Sheldon Creed alongside.  Today is also Austin Hill’s birthday.

Cole Custer, Sam Mayer, and Parker Kligerman will start the race from the back of the field after crews made unapproved adjustments to the cars.

Brad Keselowski and Joey Logano will be joining Adam Alexander in the FOX broadcast booth for today’s race.

Stage one and two are 25 laps each with stage three lasting 63 laps for a total of 113 laps around the 2.66 mile track..  Drivers can run around 44 laps on a single fuel load.

Austin Hill brings the field down for the green flag start of the race from the inside lane with teammate Sheldon Creed on the outside.  Hill and Creed go side by side as the field remains two by two through the field.  Sheldon Creed gets out in front for the lead.

Lap two, Parker Retzlaff comes up on the outside to edge out Sheldon Creed for the lead.  The drivers begin to spread out a bit across the track.

Lap two, the top five are Parker Retzlaff, Sheldon Creed, Anthony Alfredo, Austin Hill, and Jeb Burton.

Lap three, the drivers have gotten three wide with Parker Retzlaff leading the race and Anthony Alfredo in second; Sheldon Creed, Jeb Burton, and Brett Moffitt round out the top five.

Lap four, Parker Kligerman has already moved up 13 spots since starting the race form the back of the field.  Cole Custer has moved up 16 spots and Sam Mayer is in the top 25.

Lap five, Anthony Alfredo takes the elad with Jeb Burton in second; Parker Retzlaff, Brett Moffitt, and Sheldon Creed round out the top five.

Lap six, Brett Moffitt leads the race from the outside lane with Anthony Alfredo in second; Jeb Burton, Sammy Smith, and Daniel Hemric round out the top five.

Anthony Alfredo retakes the lead on the outside but Brett Moffit comes up in the middle to retake the lead.

Lap seven, drivers are three wide through the field.  While there have been a number of lead changes, only the leaders at the start/finish line are recorded as official.

Lap eight, Anthony Alfredo leads the race  on the outside.

Lap nine Daniel Hemric comes up on the inside to take the lead.

Talladega is one of only three tracks that have a “no go” line.  Any driver who goes below the double yellow line to advance his position will be penalized.

Lap 10, Daneil Hemric leads the race with Anthony Alfredo in second; Brett Moffitt, Justin Allgaier, and Parker Retzlaff round out the top five.

Lap 13, Sheldon Creed takes the lead with Daniel Hemric in second; Brett Moffitt, Parker Retzlaff, and Jeb Burton round out the top five.

Lap 16, After having to start the race at the back of the field, Sam Mayer has entered the top 10.

Sheldon Creed leads the race with Austin Hill in second; Chandler Smith, Parker Retzlaff, and Brett Moffitt round out the top five.

Josh Berry in 12th place leads the four Dash-4-Cash drivers.

All three of the drivers who started the race from the back of the field are in the top 20.

Lap 18, Sheldon Creed holds on to the lead with Chandler Smith in second.

Lap 19, Sheldon Creed leads the race with Austin Hill on his bumper; Brett Moffitt, Anthony Alfredo, and Riley Herbst round out the top five.

Talladega is unique in that the start/finish line is not the traditional spot but at turn one.

Lap 21 Chandler Smith takes a narrow lead on Sheldon Creed; Daniel Hemric, Austin Hill, ad Riley Herbst round out the top five.

Lap 23, Sheldon Creed and Justin Allgaier battle for the lead.

Lap 24 Justin Allgaier takes the lead on the inside lane.

Justin Allgaier wins a caution free stage one for his fourth stage win this season.

Drivers come down pit road for service with Ryan Truex winning the race off of pit road after taking only two tires. Justin Allgaier, John Hunter Nemechek, and Sammy Smith also took only two tires.

Austin Hill and Josh Williams were caught speeding on pit road and will restart the race from the back of the field.

Chandler Smith had some radio issues and spent an extended amount of time on pit road getting the radio fixed.

Ryan Truex brings the field down for the green flag start of stage two and battles with Justin Allgaier for the lead.

Lap 33, Justin Allgaier leads the race with Ryan Truex in second; Riley Herbst, John Hunter Nemechek, and Sammy Smith round out the top five.

The drivers are three wide as they battle for position.

Josh Berry had a slow pit stop and is back in 21st.

Lap 34, Brett Moffitt takes the elad with Justin Allgaier in second; Sammy Smith, Ryan Truex, and Brandon Jones round out the top five.

Lap 35, Justin Allgaier retakes the lead but Brett Moffitt comes up to battle with Allgaier.

Lap 36, Jeremy Clements makes an unscheduled trip down pit road with a flat tire.

Lap 37, Brett Moffitt gets back out in front with Riley Herbst in second; Cole Custer, Brandon Jones, and Sam Mayer round out the top five.

The caution flag comes out on lap 38 for a crash involving Anthony Alfredo, Parker Chase, and Parker Retzlaff.  Retzlaff’s rear tires were off the ground as he spun around.  The wreck began when Derek Kraus and Parker Chase make contact.

A few drivers came down pit road for service.

Anthony Alfredo is out of the race.  Out of the infield care center, Alfredo called the incident kids driving faster than their ability.

Brett Moffitt brings the field down for the green flag restart with just eight laps remaining in stage two with Riley Herbst alongside. Brett Moffitt edges out for the lead with Riley Herbst in second; Cole Custer, Sam Mayer, and Jeb Burton round out the top five.

Lap 44, Jeb Burton takes the lead after a push form Austin Hill; John Hunter Nemechek, Sammy Smith, and Parker Kligerman round out the top five.

Lap 45, drivers are three wide through the field.

Lap 46, Austin Hill and Jeb Burton battle for the lead.

Parker Chase is out of the race.

Lap 48, Jeb Burton leads the reac with Chandler Smith in second.

The caution flag comes out for a big crash involving Blaine Perkins and Dexter Stacey.  Stacey hit the edge of the wall hard.  Debris is everywhere including a tire bouncing around the track.  Blaine Perkins car was airborne and barrel rolled down the track at least half a dozen times.  His car landed on the tires.  Jade Buford and Kaz Grala were also involved.  The errant tire from Blaine Perkins tire hit Kaz Grala’s hood.

NASCAR has red flagged the race in order for safety workers to attend to the drivers and to get the track cleaned up.  NASCAR is making some repairs to the track.

After a 12 minute red flag, the drivers are moving again on lap 49 to officially complete stage two under the caution flag.

Blain Perkins exited his car on his own and was helped to the ambulance for the trip to the care center.  He is being transported to the hospital for further evaluation “out of an abundance of caution”.

Stage two ends under caution with Jeb Burton earning his third stage win.

The top 10 drivers are separated by just one second.

Lap 60, the drivers are starting to make some moves and are three wide across the field.

Lap 61, Daniel Hemric holds on to the lead with Austin Hill in second; Josh Berry, Sheldon Creed, and Jeb Burton round out the top five.

Lap 62, Austin Hill passes Daniel Hemric for the lead; Josh Berry, Sheldon Creed, and Chandler Smith round out the top five.

Lap 64, the caution flag comes out when Sammy Smith gets into the inside wall after some contact form Brandon Jones.  There is a big home in the front of Jones’ car. 

The drivers are on the very edge of their fuel window.

Some of the drivers come down pit road for fresh fuel.  Several drivers are dropping down to pit road to top off the fuel as the field prepares to go green flag racing.

Lap 70, Austin Hill and Chandler Smith battle for the lead with Hill out in front as the field gets three wide.

With 39 laps to go Brandon Jones ran up the track after contact with Riley Herbst and loses a tire. He comes down pit road for repairs.

Drivers come down pit road for fuel and fresh tires.  Cole Custer has some debris on his grille.

There have been seven race leaders today with Austin Hill and Daniel Hemric leading the way with 14 laps each.

Ryan Truex brings the field down for the green flag restart with 34 laps remaining in the race.  With a push Ryan Truex gets out in front for the lead with Parker Retzlaff in second; Brett Moffitt, Ryan Sieg, and John Hunter Nemechek round out the top five.

There are 30 cars on the lead lap with six cars out of the race.

John Hunter Nemechek brings out the caution flag on lap 80 when he get hard into the wall.  He reported that he was ok on the radio.  The suspension is broken on Nemechek’s car.

Josh Berry and Cole Custer are the only two Dash-4-Cash drivers still in the running for the prize money.

With 23 laps to go, Justin Allgaier restarted the race in 27th, he is up to 16th.

Josh Berry brings out the caution flag when he spins out but saves the car on lap 94.  Berry jumped down in front of Austin Hill.  Berry drops from ninth to 28th – the last car on the lead lap.

The three JR Motorsports car bring out the eighth caution flag with a big wreck.  Sam Mayer, Justin Allgaier, and Josh Berry are all out of their cars and walking to the ambulance.  Josh Berry was behind Sam Mayer and Mayer checked up when Ryan Truex tried to block and turned into Allgaier.  Gray Gaulding also has some damage to his car.  Derek Kraus was also involved.

The fourth JR Motorsports driver Brandon Jones gets the “lucky dog” and is back on the lead lap.

Ten to go with Ryan Sieg in the lead; Brett Moffitt, Daniel Hemric, Parker Kligerman, and Jeb Burton round out the top five.

There are 25 cars on the lead lap with 12 cars out of the race.

Cole Custer is the only Dash-4-Cash driver remaining to win the $100,000 prize.

Two to go and the big one brings out the caution flag with Daniel Hemric upside down.

Daniel Hemric was trying to make a block on Ryan Truex from the lead.  Hemric ended up on his roof and is now back on all four wheels.  Hemric climbs out of the car!  Austin Hill, Brett Moffitt, Jeremy Clements, Ryan Truex, Josh Bilicki, Chandler Smith, Ryan Sieg, Riley Herbst, Kaz Grala, Parker Retzlaff, and Joey Gase were all involved.  The whole rearend of Josh Bilicki’s car is torn up.

NASCAR has red flagged the race for the second time.  Once again the wall needs some repairs after a crash.

The race will go into overtime.

There are only 18 cars on the lead lap with Jeb Burton in the lead.

The drivers are moving again with Jeb Burton on the outside and Sheldon Creed alongside. 

Jeb Burton brings the field down for the two lap overtime shootout to end the race with Sheldon Creed edging out in front after a push form Parker Kligerman.  Jeb Burton gets out in front for the lead.

Sheldon Creed gets back out in front after a push from Parker Kligerman when the caution flag comes back out for debris on the track – a piece of metal on the racing surface – from Austin Hill’s car.

Ryan Truex gets the “lucky dog” and is back on the lead lap to make 19 cars on the lead lap.

When a caution flag comes out, NASCAR reverts back to the last scoring loop to set the field.

Austin Hill’s car is skewed and cannot run a straight line; NASCAR has “requested” that he bring the car down to the apron out of harm’s way.

Jeb Burton brings the field down for the second overtime shootout for the finish.  Burton is on the outside with Sheldon Creed on the inside lane.  This time Parker Kligerman give Jeb Burton a push with Kyle Sieg pushes Sheldon Creed to the lead.  Jeb Burton gets a push from Parker Kligerman and gets out in front for the lead.

Jeb Burton takes the white flag.

Garrett Smithley spins out as Jeb Burton crosses the finish line to win the race under caution.  Several cars were involved in the last lap wreck.

This is Jeb Burton’s second career win but it is the first win for car owner Jordan Anderson who was involved in a firey crash six months ago at Talladega.

All of the drivers involved in the final crash are out of their cars and ok.
