Under normal circumstances touring can be an arduous task; but Blues rockers Devon Allman and Donavon Frankenreiter are pairing up for a whirlwind event that they hope will put them in the Guinness Book of World Records.
The current record for the fastest tour is 50 cities in 50 days; Allmen and Frankenreiter are looking to make 50 concerts in just 49 days as they work their way around the United States including Alaska and Hawaii.
Traveling across the continental U.S. will be the easy part but traveling thousands of miles to Hawaii and to Alaska will be a tricky affair; especially with a full band in tow.
The ”See it All” tour kicks off August 5 with a double dip – shows in Maryland and Pennsylvania. And just to keep things interesting, the guys will be performing in places where they have never been before. Matt Andersen, JD Simo, Matt Costa, Davy Knowles, Mishka, Jackson Stokes, and Goodnight Texas will be sharing the opening act duties on the tour.
Tickets go on sale to the general public beginning April 14 at 10am local time at www.devonanddonavon.com
The son of Gregg Allman, Devon spoke on the upcoming tour saying, “I’ve had this idea in my back pocket for the better part of a decade. 50 shows in the 50 United States in 50 days. I think growing up reading the World Record books, it’s just always been a fantasy to go after a world record. This undertaking is going to be really difficult, but very rewarding and I really found the perfect co-conspirator in Donavon Frankenreiter. We have been jamming together for years now and are quite simpatico…he is the perfect Evel to my Knievel.”
Donavon Frankenreiter added, “there’s no better way to see it all but by playing all 50 states in under 50 days and I couldn’t think of a better friend to do something this crazy with. I first met Devon on the Allman Family Revival Tour and we always talked about doing something together. One morning, Devon called me and said he had this crazy idea about breaking a world record. As soon as he said 50 shows in 50 states under 50 days I said ‘Yes, let’s do this.’ And now, a year later, we are ready to see it all…or at least attempt to see it all!”
