iHeart Radio brings the newest in popular music to fans each day. On March 27, iHeart Radio presents their annual Music Awards – a fan voted event.
The 2023 iHeart Radio Icon P!nk gets the night of music started with a performance that included dancers bouncing up and down on the stage.
Lenny Kravitz hosted the gala event who said that he was honoured to be there for inspiring music; adding that he was all about the music.
After passing along condolences to the families who lost people in the school shooting in Nashville, he added, “America we must do better!”
The first award of the night for the Most Played Artist of the Year to Doja Cat whose songs were played a total of 3.6 billion times in 2022.
Keith Urban takes the stage for a performance.
The Latin Pop Star Award goes to Becky G and Karol G for “Mamiii”.
Phoebe Bridges presented the iHeart Radio Innovator Award to Taylor Swift.
TLC is the biggest selling female duo of all time. The duo introduced Latto whose song “Lottery” has aired over one billion times on iHeart Radio stations across the country.
The winner of the iHeart Song of the Year went to Cole Swundell for “She Had Me at Heads Carolina”.
Kelly Clarkson presented the iHeart Radio Icon Award to P!nk. Rock and roll couple Pat Benatar and Neil Geraldo pay tribute to P!nk in song. Kelly Clarkson also gives a performance and P!nk joins her in the performance and then sang herself. P!nk noted that whenever she walks into a room, her heart goes first; adding that her lyrics are her heart.
H.E.R. presented the award for Tour of the Year to Coldplay. On the last tour, they planted a tree for every ticket sold – six million trees – and set aside a block of special priced tickets for those who would otherwise not be able to see a live concert. Coldplay accepted the award from the stage in Sao Paulo, Brazil before giving a performance.
Best New Artists of the Year – Jax, Cody Johnson, Muni Long, and Giovannie and the Hired Guns all performed.
LL Cool J spoke on the birth of Hip-Hop and gave a demonstration of the artform which is currently the biggest selling genre in the world.
Lenny Kravitz announced that Harry Styles is the iHeart Radio Artist of the Year. Harry accepted his award via a video message.
Sam Smith and Kim Petras won the award for Best Collaboration for their hit song “Unholy”.
Buffalo Bill defensive end Damar Hamlin introduced host Lenny Kravitz who performed a medley of his hits.
The award for song of the Year went to Taylor Swift for “Anti Hero”.
