The 2023 NASCAR racing season is just five races old but it isn’t too soon to see a new record or something unique in NASCAR.

Last year Brad Keselowski left long time owner Roger Penske to join Roush Fenway Racing to become a driver and part owner; renaming the team Roush Fenway Keselowski or RFK Racing.

After a rough start last year, Keselowski has gotten 2023 off to a good start.  Currently he is the only driver who has led laps in each of the five races – 42 laps in Daytona, two laps at Auto Club Speedway, five laps at Las Vegas Motors Speedway, just one lap in Phoenix, and 47 laps last week at Atlanta Motor Speedway.  This week NASCAR travels to Texas and the Circuit of the Americas for some road course racing.

This is only the second time in his Cup Series career that Keselowski has led laps in the first five races of the season – 2014.

After finishing second behind Joey Logano at Atlanta Motor Speedway Keselowski noted, “it’s night and day from where we were a year ago, 100 percent.  You just keep running like this with good finishes and the wins will come.”

Keselowsi and two time 2023 race winner William Byron are the only two Cup Series drivers who have earned stage points in every race.  Currently Keselowski is fifth in the point standings with 160 points.  Keselowski has also won a stage – stage one at the Daytona 500.
