NASCAR isn’t just about racing…it’s about family!

This year NASCAR celebrates its 75th anniversary and over the years there have been numerous examples of sons following fathers into the sport. And while a champion driver has yet to produce a daughter to follow in his steps, it is surly just a matter of time. But there have been numerous examples of sibling rivalry on the track.

This past weekend, the Busch brothers – Kurt and Kyle – set a new record for sibling race wins in NASCAR. But how do they stack up with other siblings on the track?

Geoffrey and Todd Bodine have combined to win 19 races – one from Todd and 18 from Geoff.

Benny and Phil Parsons have combined to earn 22 wins with Phil winning one race and Benny winning 21 races.

Ward and Jeff Burton have joined up to win a total of 26 races with Ward winning five and Jeff winning 21 races. Both Burton brothers also have both of their sons racing with Jeff’s son Harrison driving the number 21 car for the Wood Brothers in the Cup Series and Ward’s son Jeb in the Xfinity Series.

Terry and Bobby Labonte have combined to win a total of 43 races; nearly splitting the total down the middle with Bobby winning 21 and Terry winning 22. The brothers also have a Cup Series championship each.

While not as well known as the Petty’s, Earnhardts, Labonte’s, or Waltrip’s; the Flock brothers Fonty, Bob winning four, and Tim combined to win a total of 62 races with Fonty winning 19 and Tim winning 39.

The Waltrip brothers Darrell and Michael have combined to win a total of 88 races with Michael winning just four races but older brother Darrell among the top 10 drivers in the all time win list with 84, plus a Cup Series championship.

Second on the list of sibling race winners are the Allison brothers Donnie and Bobby have a total of 94 race wins with Donnie winning 10 races and Bobby tied with Darrell Waltrip with 84 wins.

And after his race win on Sunday at Auto Club Speedway, Kyle Busch broke the record and put him and his brother Kurt at the top of the list with a total of 95 wins. Kurt and younger brother Kyle are the only siblings to each have at least 30 wins – 34 for Kurt and 61 for Kyle. While there is some speculation as to whether or not…or even when…Kurt will race again; Kyle is sure to add to the list of wins. Kurt and Kyle also each have Cup Series championships with Kurt winning one and Kyle has two…so far.

Though not on the list, there are other families with sibling drivers including the Wallace brothers – Rusty, Mike, and Kenny -; the Green brothers; the Nemechek brothers; and the Dillon brothers Austin and Ty are currently the only brothers driving in the Cup Series.
