This spring the New York Pops led by Steven Reineke will celebrate 40 years of making music with a gala event honouring New York City native, Songwriters Hall of Fame member; and Grammy, Emmy, and Tony Award winning entertainer Barry Manilow. With over 85 million albums sold around the world, Manilow has 50 top 40 singles – with 12 of them topping the chart. Once of the greatest entertainers in history, Frank Sinatra once spoke on Manilow saying, “He’s next!”
Titled “This One’s for You” the music of Barry Manilow the May 1 concert at Carnegie Hall will feature performances from Sean Bell, Erich Bergen, Betty Buckley, Caro, Deborah Cox, Danny Kornfield, Zal Owen, Eric Peters, Blake Roman, Steven Telsey, and Max von Essen. The list of performers include cast members from the award winning musical “Harmony”. More artist announcements will be coming.
Mediaplus North America CEO Tamara Alesi and New York Pop supports Patty and Jim Read are also being honoured during the performance.
