This Sunday NASCAR gets its 75th season started off with the exhibition race The Busch Light Clash at the Memorial Coliseum at Los Angeles.  NASCAR has named actor Rob Lowe as the Grand Marshall and the man who will give the command to start engines.

Over the course of his career, Lowe has over 100 film and television credits to his name and is currently starring in the FOX television drama “9-1-1: Lone Star” where he plays Owen Strand.

NASCAR senior vice president for racing development and strategy Ben Kennedy spoke on Lowe as the Grand Marshall saying, “this is shaping up to be another incredible event in the heart of Los Angeles. “Rob Lowe’s body of work is nothing short of remarkable, and we can’t wait for him to begin the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series season in style.”

University of Southern California quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner Caleb Williams is the honourary starter for the 150 lap main event; while Cypress Hill and Wiz Khalifa will provide the entertainment.

Tickets for the 2023 Busch Light Clash begin at $65 for adults, $40 Coca-Cola Torch Party Porch for college students, and just $10 for children 12 and under.

And in less than three weeks the 2023 NASCAR season kicks off in earnest with the Daytona 500.  Award winning entertainer Dierks Bentley will be entertaining the fans before the start of the race.  This is not Bentley’s first visit to the World Center of Racing; this will be his third time performing at Daytona; as well as, the 2021 Championship at Phoenix.

Bentley spoke on his upcoming appearance saying, “I’m ready to get back to Daytona with all the biggest NASCAR fans.  The Energy there is unmatched and I know we will have a blast getting them ready for the race.”
