Since the introduction of the Next Gen car last season, social media has been filled with “armchair crew chiefs” spouting their “expertise” on why the cars are no good and what needs to be done.

NASCAR has made a number of adjustments to the cars during the off-season to address body stiffness and driver safety.

But those are not the only changes coming in the new season; NASCAR has devised a number of rule packages for the various tracks that include a return to the Los Angeles Coliseum for The Clash, a Bristol dirt race, several road courses, a new location for the All Star race, and the first ever street race in Chicago on the Fourth of July weekend.

Among those changes is an introduction of a wet weather tire for six of the oval tracks.  Previously, NASCAR only allowed wet weather tires on the road courses and only slicks on the remaining tracks.  The 2022 season saw a number of races postponed due to rain that causes numerous issues from darkness and television programming.

After a wet weather tire test at Martinsville; LA Coliseum, Martinsville Speedway, New Hampshire Motor Speedway, North Wilkesboro Speedway, Phoenix Raceway and Richmond Raceway will all include a wet weather tire option should the need arise.

With the exception of the Superspeedway tracks, the cars will be running with 670 horsepower.
