After losing her ride in the Camping World Truck Series when GMS Racing changed manufacturers, Hailie Deegan was in search of a new team; on December 15, she found one.
While GMS is now Tricon Garage and running Toyota’s, ThorSport has made the switch from a Toyota to a return to Ford and signed Deegan to the team for a 2023 season with the Craftsman Truck Series where she will driver the number 13 truck. Veteran driver Matt Crafton is also returning to ThorSport for the new season. Ben Rhodes and Ty Majeski round out the ThorSport team of drivers.
Deegan was not signed to a specific team but was contracted by Ford which limited her opportunities for a new ride.
Ford Performance Motorsports global director Mark Rushbrook spoke on the Thorson’s return to Ford saying, “we’re happy to welcome ThorSport back to our NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series program. Duke has assembled one of the best organizations in the series with a driver lineup that is filled with youth and experience. We celebrated a championship together just a few years ago and know they have the potential to do it again in 2023.”
