A new original musical will be coming to Broadway next spring and will feature the music of Britney Spears. 

“Once Upon a One More Time” was written by Jon Hartmere and will preview at the Marquis Theatre in May with the official premiere in June.  The musical is about classic fairy tale princesses including Cinderella, Snow White, and the Little Mermaid who become “transformed” after they read the “landmark feminine text” “The Feminine Mystique”.

“Once Upon a One More Time” is the latest in a long list of musicals taking advantage of well known popular songs by a specific artist or group.

Spears music is currently being used in the musical “& Juliet”.  When “Once Upon a One More Time” premieres, it will be the third Broadway musical that will feature much by Britney Spears.  Currently “& Juliet” and “Moulin Rouge”’s soundtracks include music by Spears.

The musical made its debut last November at the Shakespeare Theatre Company in Washington D.C.

While the cast for the musical has yet to be announced, tickets for the production are currently available to Spears’ fan club members and will go on sale to the general public on December 5.
