Award winning veteran actor John Aniston died November 11, 2022 at the age of 89. An official cause of death was not given.
Best known for his role as Victor Kiriakis on the daytime drama “Days of Our Lives”, Aniston appeared in three dozen film and television productions including his 1962 debut on the television series “87th Precinct”, “I Spy”, “Mission: Impossible”, 148 episodes of the daytime drama “Search for Tomorrow”, “Airwolf”, “Star Trek: Voyager”, “West Wing”, “Cold Case”, “Mad Men”, and 2,886 episodes of “Days of Our Lives”.
In 1975, Aniston was the standby for Palmer Forrester in the original play “Murder Among Friends”.
He was born Yannis Anastassakis on July 24, 1933 on the isle of Crete in Greece. He came to the United States and settled in Pennsylvania with his family while he was still a child. He earned a bachelor’s degree in theater from Pennsylvania State University. He later joined the United States Navy where he worked in intelligence.
Aniston is survived by his second wife Sherry, actress daughter Jennifer, son Alexander, and step son John Melick.
