For some 30 years psychedelic rockers the Grateful Dead entertained audiences and had an obsessive fan base who would travel all over the country to see their favourite band. Known as “Dead Heads”, it became a badge of honour for fans to tout the number of shows they had attended. When band leader Jerry Garcia died in 1995, it all came to a stop…until 2015 when a new incarnation of the band with pop star John Mayer joining original Dead members Bob Weir and Bill Kreutzmann to form Dead and Company.
Dead and Company have announced that after eight years, they will make one final tour next spring. Mickey Hart, Oteil Burbridge, and Jeff Chimenti will also be joining the band on the tour.
The 19 city tour features some multiple dates in some cities and VIP packages that include the hotel. Each VIP package includes a two or three night hotel stay, two VIP or GA tickets, transportation to and from the venue, two travel package merchandise gifts, and an event host.
Bob Weir spoke on the upcoming tour saying, “well it looks like that’s it for this outfit. But don’t worry, we will all be out there in one form or another until we drop.”
