Alex Bowman’s concussion wasn’t the only injury at the crash fest that was known as the Cup Series race at Texas Motor Speedway on September 25; Cody Ware has revealed that he sustained an ankle injury that has put his right leg and foot in a boot.
Ware drove the YellaWood 500 at Talladega Superspeedway on October 2. Talladega is a 2.66 mile high banked oval but the race at Charlotte Motor Speedway this weekend is a road course featuring both left and right turns.
Ware announced via social media that he would not be in the car for the race on the Charlotte Roval due to his injury – an impact fracture and torn ligaments.
JJ Yeley will be taking over the driving duties for Ware in the Rick Ware Racing number 51 car for the Bank of America ROVAL.
Ware stated that he will be back in the number 51 car for the race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on October 16.
