After much of the field was unable to finish the Xfinity Series race at Daytona International Speedway last Friday night, Jeremy Clements squeaked through to earn his second career race win.

However, after the post race inspection process, the number 51 car of Clements’ was found to have an issue with the intake manifold and did not conform with the NACAR rule book.

As a result, Clements’ will maintain his race win but he has been deemed ineligible for the playoffs.  Crew chief March Setzer has also been fined $60,000.  The Clements family – who owns the car – has been docked 75 car owner points and Jeremy Clements has been docked 75 driver points.  Should he win one of the three remaining races in the Xfinity Series regular season, he will begin the playoff with a 10 point deficit.

Clements is now in 20th place in the point standings with 328 points.

There were no other penalties issued for the Daytona races.
