After announcing that they would be appealing the L2 penalty that would cost the team and driver 100 points, Front Row Motorsports has rescinded their appeal of the penalty and will accept the punishment.
FRM has stated, “the team has made internal changes in its build practices to ensure the issues leading to the penalties will not happen again in the future.”
As a result, driver of the number 34 car Michael McDowell will lose 100 points; as will Front Row Motorsports. Crew chief Blake Harris will be suspended for four weeks. With just four races remaining in the regular season, FRM will be without their crew chief for the remainder of the regular season.
Should McDowell win one of the four remaining regular season races and make it into the playoffs, he will also be docked 10 playoff points.
