The Xfinity Series goes road racing this weekend for the inaugural race at Portland International Raceway with the Pacific Office Automation 147.

This race begins the second half of the regular season for the Xfinity Series.

The drivers had their practice session under wet conditions which sent several drivers spinning and running into the grass.  Noah Gragson’s crash into the wall sent him to a backup car.

Qualifying starts out under mostly dry conditions.  This week the drivers make a group qualifying run with the field split into two groups.  Each group has 15 minutes to qualify with the top five drivers from each field going out to compete for the pole.

Driving a backup car, Noah Gragson will have to start the race from the back of the field.

With deteriorating conditions on the track, NASCAR called off the second round of qualifying.  Anthony “Andretti” Alfredo will sit on the pole with Austin Hill alongside.  This is Alfredo’s first career pole.  It is also the first pole ever for Our Motorsports.

Jamie McMurray and Trevor Bayne join Adam Alexander in the FOX broadcast booth for the race.

Stage breaks during a road course race are much different than the normal stops.  Crews cannot fuel a car under green flag conditions…only change tires and make adjustments.  Once all of the cars are on pit road, NASCAR gives the go ahead and the crews have three minutes to make all adjustments, fuel the cars, and change the tires.  The field is frozen and no driver loses his position unless a penalty is assessed or repairs take more than three minutes.

The windshields are clean and the drivers are ready to go racing once again; Ty Gibbs brings the field down for the green flag start of stage two with Austin Hill alongside.  Gibbs takes the lead going into turn one as the drivers spread out back in the field.
