Canadian native Justin Bieber has had a bad year when it comes to winning industry award shows, but scored big with The Kid LaRoi at the Billboard Music Awards.  Earlier this year Bieber was nominated eight times at the Grammy Awards and had another five nominations at the Juno Awards (Canada’s version of the Grammys) but came up empty in both cases.

Shawn Mendes and Charlotte Cardin were the big winners at the annual Juno Awards held in Toronto on May 15. The Weeknd was also a multiple award winner.

“Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Ring” star Simu Liu hosted the gala event at the outdoor Budweiser Stage along the shore of Lake Ontario.  This marked the first time that the Juno Awards were held live since 2019.
