This past week NASCAR traveled to the larges track on the circuit when the Xfinity and Cup Series drivers raced at Talladega Superspeedway.  The iconic weekend saw the black number three car piloted by an Earnhardt just miss out on the win while another man named Earnhardt saw his driver cross the finish line first on Saturday and a watermelon splattered all over the start/finish line on Sunday.

In the updated stage point standings, William Byron leads the way with 99 stage points.  Seven drivers have won a stage in one of the 10 races run so far this season; while two drivers have won two stages and three drivers have won three stages – William Byron, Ryan Blaney, and Martin Truex Jr.

But when it comes to the overall point standings, Chase Elliott lead the way with 368 points.

While they lead the point standings, Chase Elliott and Ryan Blaney have yet to win a race.  Of the 10 races run this season, there have been eight different winners.

Denny Hamlin has won a race but places 24th in the point standings with 178 points.  After having a major penalty assessed that included the loss of 100 driver points, Brad Keselowski ranks 29th with 132 points.

But in the Playoff Standings, it is William Byron with two race wins who leads with 2,021 points.
