After the Xfinity and Cup Series races last week at Richmond Raceway, only two teams from the Xfinity Series were issued penalties by NASCAR.

The Cup Series teams no longer have to worry about lug nut penalties, but the drivers in the Xfinity Series still have to worry about getting all 20 of their lug nuts tight.

The Kaulig Racing number 10 car driven by Landon Cassill and the Kaulig Racing number 16 driven by AJ Allmendinger were both found to have a single lug nut improperly secured.  As a result, the number 10 crew chief Jason Trinchere and the number 16 crew chief Bruce Schlicker have been fined $5,000.

There were no additional penalties issued to Cup Series drivers other than those issued during the Toyota Owner’s 400 on Sunday including Kurt Busch’s number 18 car for having tape on the grille which is no longer legal.  Busch had to serve a pass through penalty during the race after his car had been blacked flagged by NASCAR.
