Last weekend, NASCAR made a triumphant return to Atlanta Motor Speedway after three weeks on the west coast to find a newly configured track.  More than just a repave, AMS officials tore up the track, reconfigured the layout – widening in places, narrowing in places, and adding more banking – and turned it into a hybrid superspeedway.  The result was a wild weekend of triple header racing that included plenty of excitement for race fans.

The Cup Series brought the first repeat winner of the season when William Byron crossed the finish line first while cars were wrecking behind him to be the fifth different driver to win a race this season.

With a total of 55 stage points, Byron is now the leader in stage point earnings.  A total of 26 drivers have earned stage points so far this season. William Byron, Tyler Reddick, Ryan Blaney, and Martin Truex Jr have all won two stages so far this season.  Alex Bowman and Ross Chastain have each won one stage so far this season.  Race winners are not credited with winning the final stage; only the race.
