NASCAR has seen a number of sports and entertainment stars joining the ranks of ownership in recent months.

The most recent addition gives a whole new meaning to the expression “pedal to the metal” when the Grammy Award winning metal band Ghost have paired up with JD Motorsports for a new partnership.

The Swedish rockers will be the primary sponsor for the JD Motorsports number four car driven by Bayley Currey for the United Rentals 200 Xfinity Series race at Phoenix Raceway on March 12.

Ghost have been on tour in the United States to help promote their upcoming album “Impera”. This is their first partnership with American motorsports.

Noting that he is also a musician, JD Motorsports vice president of sales and Marketing Tony Priscars said it, “rocked working with Ghost and Loma Vista Recordings on this car. We can’t wait to put the pedal to the metal.”

The car will feature logos of the band, record label Loma Vista Recordings, Global Merchandising Services, Revolver Magazine and Rick Sales Entertainment.
