After five days of competition in the Paralympic Games in Beijing the host country of China increase their lead in the overall medal count as the first nation to reach over 30.

Wheelchair curling ended the day of round-robin events with China, Sweden, Canada, and Slovakia as the top four teams with one more day of round-robin play and the semi-finals ahead.

Austria’s Carina Edlinger final got her gold medal in Para Cross-Country sprint skiing.

The cross-country skiing events have concluded and the focus shifts to the sprinting events. Many of the athletes who competed in the cross-country will now turn their attention to sprinting.


The semi-finals are set in sled hockey and will feature two Asian teams for the first time in the sport’s history. The United States secured their spot in the semis after only two games; South Korea, China, and Canada finish out the four teams to play for the gold. The gold medal has been won by the United States or Canada for the past 20 years.
