Actor Bob Saget died January 9, 2022 at the age of 65.  He was found in a Ritz Carlton hotel in Orlando.  The Orange County Sheriff’s department did not give a cause of death but did not suspect an foul play or drug use.

Saget was on a comedy tour at the time of his death.

Most recently Saget was best known for fans of the singing show “The Maked Singer” where he played the squiggly monster.  Prior to that he was the single father of three on “Full House” and later appeared in the sequel “Fuller House”.

While best known for acting  on the screen, Saget appeared in two Broadway productions – the musical comedy “The Drowsy Chaperone” and the comedic play “Hand to God”

Appearing in over 60 productions, Saget made his film debut in 1980 as a therapy patient in the short “Devces”.  His first television appearance came the following year as Bob the Comic in the sitcom “Bosom Buddies”.  His other roles include “The Greatest American Hero”, “New Love, American Style”, “Quantum Leap”, “The Jeff Foxworthy Show”, “Raising Dad”, the voice of a Zoo Animval in “Madagascar”, “Law & Order”, “Surviving Suburbia”, “Entourage”, the narrator in “How I Met Your Mother”, and his final role last year in “Killing Daniel”.

As himself, Saget appeared in nearly 200 productions including talk shows, comedy shows, award shows, telethons, entertainment specials, late night talk shows, as host on “America’s Funniest Home Videos”, documentaries, game shows, and his own comedy special.


Robert Lane Saget was born on May 17, 1956 in Philadelphia where he later attended Temple University.  The family moved to Lexington, Virginia when Bob was just two years old.  He began acting in college where he won a Student Academy Award in 1977.

Predeceased by his sister Gay, Saget is survived by his second wife Kelly and children – Aubrey, Lara, and Jennifer.
