Keselowski patriarch and racing pioneer Bob Keselowski died December 22, 2021 as a result of cancer at the age of 70.
He was a champion in the ARCA Menards Series and one of the pioneers to help launch the Camping World Truck Series.
Bob is the father of third generation driver Brad who currently is a part owner and driver for Roush Fenway Keselowski Racing. Son Brian is a former ARCA racer who has turned to working as a crew chief and spotter.
John Keselowski began the racing legacy in the fifties racing motorcycles. After starting a race car team, sons Bob and Ron raced the family cars before taking over the family business.
A 24 time winner and 26 time pole sitter in what is now known as the ARCA Menards Series, Bob won the championship in 1989. From 1987 to 1993, he finished the season as one of the top three drivers in the standings.
When NASCAR launched the Camping World Truck Series in 1995, Bob Keselowski was among the first drivers to join the series; winning only once in the number 29 in his own K Automotive team.
Health issues with a bad back and hip, Bob retired from full time driving in 1999. Continuing to run his own team, Bob had Dennis Setzer and Terry Cook; as well as, son Brad doing the driving. Financial issues caused him to close down the team in 2006.
After stepping away from ownership duties, Bob continued to support sons Brad and Brian with their racing efforts.
Not ready to completely give up on driving, Bob pursued the record books with land-speed driving in a special Dodge Charger. In 2018, at 67 years old, he set a record of 271.8mph in a stock car at Bonneville Salt Flats and at 69 he was clocked at over 260mph at Loring Air Force Base in Maine.
Bob Keselowski is survived by his sons Brad and Brian and grandchildren.
