The Country Music Association holds its annual awards ceremonies live from Nashville.  Luke Bryan hosts the 55th annual awards filled with performances and awards for the best in Country music

The night begins with a medley performance from award winning performer Miranda Lambert.

Excited to see fans in the audience, Luke Bryan noted that it has been 20 years since he packed up his pick-up truck and moved from Georgia to Nashville to make his dreams come true.  Bryan noted that everyone has been tested and they are following safety protocols.

Fellow “American Idol” judges Katy Perry and Lionel Richie surprise Luke on stage…to offer some help with the hosting activities.

Katy and Lionel present the first award of the night for Song of the Year to Mike Henderson and Chris Stapleton for “Starting Over”.

Dierks Bentley performs his song “Beer’s on Me” with a little help from Hardy and Breland. 

Five time nominee tonight, Eric Church takes the stage for a performance of “Heart on Fire”.

Carly Pearce and Ashley McBryde take the stage for a performance.

The award for Vocal Duo of the Year went to Brothers Osborne.

Vocal Group of the Year nominees the Zac Brown Band take the stage for a performance. 

The “American Idol” judges return to introduce Idol alum Gabby Barrett to perform “The Good Ones”. 

The award for New Artist of the Year goes to Jimmie Allen.

Scotty McCreery introduces Chris Young and Kane Brown for a performance of “Famous Friends”.  Photos of some of the big names in Country music when they were in high school aired behind the duo as they performed. 

Jason Aldean and Carrie Underwood take the stage to perform their duet “If I Didn’t Love You”. 

“The Voice” coach and award winning Country singer Blake Shelton debuts his latest single “Comeback as a Country Boy”.

Keith Urban takes the stage for a performance of “Wild Hearts”.

The award for Single of the Year went to Chris Stapleton for “Starting Over”.

Mickey Guyton takes the stage for a performance with Brittney Spencer and Making Madeline. 

Three time Vocal Group of the Year winners Old Dominion perform.

Entertainer of the Year nominee Chris Stapleton takes the stage for a performance. 

Making a debut of his new single, Luke Combs takes the stage for “Doin’ This”.

The award for Vocal Group of the Year went to Old Dominion for the four year in a row.

Thomas Rhett takes the stage to sing about being Country. 

The award for Album of the Year went to Chris Stapleton for “Starting Over”.  This is his third award of the night so far and his third album of the year award.

Duo Dan + Shay take the stage for a performance.

Honouring Aretha Franklin’s connection to Country music, Jennifer Hudson takes the stage with Chris Stapleton for a performance.

New Artist of the Year winner Jimmie Allen takes the stage to perform “Freedom was a Highway”.

The award for Female Vocalist of the Year went to Carly Pearce.

Duo of the Year Award winners Brothers Osborne take the stage to perform.

The boys of Florida Georgia Line introduce host Luke Bryan for a performance of “Up”.

The award for Male Vocalist of the Year went to Chris Stapleton for his fourth award of the night. 

Country music legend Alan Jackson presents the biggest award of the night for Entertainer of the Year Award to Luke Combs!

Host Luke Bryan concludes the night’s festivities with a song.
