While there was a lot of action on the track at Martinsville last weekend that brought out record numbers of caution flags and overtime finishes; but when it came down to penalties, with only one was issued.
In the Camping World Truck Series, the CMI Motorsports number 49 truck driven by Roger Reuse was found to have a single lug nut improperly secured. As a result, crew chief Timothy Silva was charged with a $2,500 fine.
In the Xfinity Series, NASCAR has suspended Our Motorsports crew member Randall Howard indefinitely due to a hehavioural issue. Howard is a part of the number 23 team.
While not a penalty, NASCAR has ordered Cup Series driver Kyle Busch to undergo sensitivity training after he used the word “retarded” when speaking on rival Brad Keselowski in a post race interview. Busch has since apologized for his remarks.
