Week two of the Knockout rounds on “The Voice” begins with only Blake having a steal; Ariana, Kelly, and John have all used their one steal for the round. Kelly has four acts on her team, Ariana and John have three acts, and Blake only has two artists on his team.
John gets the knockouts started with Shadale with “Impossible” by Shontelle and Samara Brown with “The Best” by Tina Turner. John and Ed sang background for Shadale in rehearsals. Shadale was emotional at the end of the song. Kelly said that it was well done. Blake loved it. Ariana said that she is a fan of both of them. John loved the soul Samara put in the song; adding that it was a flawless performance. He said that Shadale reminded him of a Mary J Blige show; adding she gave her best performance yet. John chose Shadale as the winner of the battle.
Blake paired Country singers Carson Peters with “Amarillo by Morning” with his fiddle and Lana Scott with “Wildest Dreams”. Ariana loved the performances. John loved seeing Carson playing the fiddle and Lana’s voice. Kelly said that Carson is gifted and compared Lana to Pam Tillis. Blake noted that up til now Lana has flown under the radar; adding that it was a tall order to sing a George Strait song. Blake chose Lana as the winner of the battle.
Ariana paired Bella DeNapoli with “Chandelier” and Katherine Anne Mohler with “Poison”. John noted that it is a big risk to change an arrangement in an effort to try and stand out. Kelly said that it was a cool move to change up the song. Blake said that it was the most equal knockout round in the competition. Ariana said that she loved them both. Ariana chose Bella as the winner of the battle.
Kelly paired Jeremy Rosado with “Run to You” by Whitney Houston and Xavier Cornell with “Falling Slowly”. Ed said that Jeremy made a great song choice. Blake said wow. Ariana thought both did a great job. Kelly loved the emotional connection the singers had with their songs. Kelly chose Jeremy as the winner of the battle.
In a video clip Blake paired Peedy Chavis and Berritt Holmes for a battle with Peedy winning the battle.
Ariana paired steal Manny Keith with “Golden” and Jim and Sasha Allen with “Home”. John said that the performances were joyful. Kelly noted that Manny feels the music; adding that Jim and Sasha have a magical thing together. Blake said that their song sounded like it was something they wrote; adding that Manny was great. Ariana said that Manny is incredible; adding that both acts performed brilliantly. Ariana chose Jim and Sasha as the winners of the battle.
In the final knockout battle, John paired steal Jershiska Maple with “Inseparable” and Paris Winningham with “Tennessee Whiskey”. Ed said that Jershika gave him chills and Paris made the song his own; adding that Paris is a voice he would buy the record. Kelly kept saying, “oh my god”; adding that they were both so good. Ariana and Kelly were mad that they didn’t have a steal. Blake said that Paris killed it; adding that he couldn’t believe Kelly let Jershika go. Ariana called the performances next level. John said that they were both A+ level performers. John said that it wasn’t fair that he had to choose just one, but chose Jershika as the winner of the battle. Blake finally used his steal on Paris.
