After a wild weekend of racing on The Roval, the Xfinity Series kicks off a doubleheader weekend at Texas Motor Speedway with the Andy’s Frozen Custard 335.

The races at TMS begin the round of eight – the final round before the championship race – for both the Xfinity and Cup Series.

If one of the eight playoff drivers wins today’s race, they will secure their spot in the final four.

Over half of the 40 car field has drivers that do not know where or even if they will be driving next season. The playoff drivers are looking to secure their spot in the final four and a chance for the championship, but the remainder of the field is racing for a job.

With his win at The Roval, AJ Allmendinger sits on the pole and will bring the field to green with Austin Cindric alongside on the front row.

Stages one and two of the race are 45 laps each with stage three lasting 110 laps for a total of 200 laps around the mile and a half track.

NASCAR has called for a competition caution on lap 20.

Lap 12, CJ McLaughlin is the only car not on the lead lap.

Lap 14, AJ Allmendinger has a lead of less than half a second on Austin Cindric; third place driver Justin Haley is over a second and a half back.

Lap 14, Austin Cindric has caught up to leader AJ Allmendinger and passes him to take the lead amid slower traffic.

Lap 20, Austin Cindric has pulled out to a lead of over a second on AJ Allmendinger; Noahg Gragson, Daniel Hemric, and John Hunter Nemechek round out the top five.

Lap 21, NASCAR puts out the yellow flag for the competition caution.

The teams were given a total of five sets of tires for today’s race.

Only a few drivers take advantage of the caution and come down pit road for service and adjustments.

AJ Allmendinger reports that he is not happy with his car; saying that it is a bit off and he also has a brake shake.

Austin Cindric brings the field down for the green flag restart from the inside lane on lap 26. Cindric and AJ Allmendinger do side by side before Cindric gets out in front fo the lead.

Landon Cassill is slowed on the track. Jeb Burton and Sam Mayer make contact and bring out the caution flag. Mayer has a smoking car. Cassill’s car is being pushed to pit road.

Once pit road opened, Sam Mayer and Jeb Burton come down pit road.

Austin Cindric brings the field down for the green flag restart on lap 31 and gets out in front for the lead with Daniel Hemric taking second; AJ Allmendinger, Noah Gragson, and Justin Haley round out the top five.

Lap 33, Noah Gragson makes contact with AJ Allmendinger and sends AJ up the track; the track stays green. AJ is falling in the field. He is now in sixth place.

There are 35 cars on the lead lap. Jake Buford is off the track.

Lap 35. Austin Cindric has a narrow lead on Daniel Hemric; John Hunter Nemechek, Noah Gragson, and AJ Allmendinger round out the top five.

With eight laps remaining in stage one, Austin Cidric leads the race with John Hunter Nemechek in second; Daniel Hemric, Noah Gragson, and AJ Allmendinger round out the top five.

The third caution flag of the race comes out when JJ Yeley gets stopped on the track just six laps before the end of stage one.

Several drivers come down pit road for service short of the end of the stage. The top 10 drivers stayed out on the track.

Lap 52, Daniel Hemric leads the race with John Hunter Nemechek in second; Brandon Jones, Sam Mayer, and Austin Hill round out the top five. AJ Allmendinger restarts the race back in 18th place.

The fifth caution flag of the race comes out on lap 56 for debris on the track.

Daniel Hemric brings the field down for the green flag restart on lap 62 but it is John Hunter Nemechek that edges out for the lead before the two go side by side. Daneil Hemric takes the lead.

Lap 63, Daniel Hemric leads the race with Sam Mayer in second; John Hunter Nemechek, Brandon Jones, and Riley Herbst round out the top five.

The caution flag comes out on lap 64 when Ryan Sieg spins out. Sieg has been reporting a vibration but the crew has been unable to find the issue.

Six caution flags by lap 71 is the most ever at Texas Motor Speedway.

Lap 72, Daneil Hemric and John Hunter Nemechek battle for the lead with the two swapping the lead back and forth before Nemechek finally takes the lead on lap 74.

Lap 75, John Hunter Nemechek leads the race with Daniel Hemric in second; Sam Mayer, Jeb Burton, and Justin Haley round out the top five.

John Hunter Nemechek reports a vibration in the car. The crew assured him that all of the lug nuts are secure but there may be a bit of damage to his car causing the issue.

Lap 77, John Hunter Nemechek has a lead of over half a second on Daniel Hemric; Sam Mayer, Jeb Burton, and Justin Haley round out the top five.

Lap 80, after starting stage two in 18th place, AJ Allmendinger has only moved up to 12th place.

Lap 83, John Hunter Nemechek has pulled out to a lead of over a second on Daniel Hemric; Sam Mayer, Jeb Burton, and Justin Haley round out the top five.

Lap 85, AJ Allmendinger has entered the top 10.

There are 29 cars on the lead lap with Jade Buford, JJ Yeley, and Landon Cassill off the track.

Drivers come down pit road for service with John Hunter Nemechek winning the race off of pit road. Justin Haley’s crew had two tires roll out onto pit road. Haley will have to restart the race from the back of the field.

Coming into his pit stall, AJ Allmendinger’s cr made contact with a tire from Noah Gragson’s car. The jack fell on Allmendinger’s car making his pit stop long after the car had to be jacked back up to put on the left front tire.

Noah Gragson and AJ Allmendinger made a second trip down pit road. Gragson reports a vibration. Allmendinger’s crew checked to make sure all of the lug nuts were secure.

The drivers are told that when the jack drops to start driving. When the jack fell, Allmendinger thought the service was complete and began to move, but the left front tire was not on the car.

John Hunter Nemechek brings the field down for the green flag start of stage three on lap 98 and gets out in front for the lead with Daniel Hemric in second; Sam Mayer, Jeb Burton, and Justin Allgaier round out the top five.

The caution flag comes out on lap 100 for a wreck right in front of the playoff drivers. Jade Buford, Tanner Berryhill, and Dylan Lupton were all involved and have significant damage to their cars.

Lap 110, John Hunter Nemechek jumps out to a one second lead on Daniel Hemric, Justin Allgaier, Jeb Burton, and Austin Cindric round out the top five.

Kyle Weatherman was charged with a start violation and has to serve a pass through penalty down pit road.

On the restart, Justin Allgaier got off onto the grass but the track stayed green.

Lap 114, John Hunter Nemechek has a lead of over a second on Daniel Hemric; Justin Allgaier, Austin Cindric, and Jeb Burton round out the top five. AJ Allmendinger enters the top 10.

There are 28 cars on the lead lap. Tanner Berryhill, Dylan Lupton, Jade Buford, and JJ Yeley are out of the race. Landon Cassill is 64 laps down.

Lap 123, John Hunter Nemechek has pulled out to a lead of nearly two seconds on Daneil Hemric; Justin Allgaier, Austin Cindric, and Michael Annett round out the top five.

Leader John Hunter Nemechek has not been in a stock car in a race since 2019.

Lap 125, John Hunter Nemechek continues to increase his lead and is now two seconds in front of Daniel Hemric.

With a fuel load of around 70 laps the drivers will have to make a pit stop during stage three in order to finish the race.

Eighth place driver AJ Allmendinger reports that he has not been able to “find his groove” for this race.

AJ Allmendinger has some fluid on his windshield but they don’t know where the fluid is coming from. Noah Gragson is just in front of Allmendinger.

Lap 134, leader John Hunter Nemechek has a lead of a second and a half on Daniel Hemric; Justin Allgaier, Austin Cindric, and Michael Annett round out the top five.

Lap 140, John Hunter Nemechek has a lead of over two seconds on Daniel Hermic; Justin Algaier, Austin Cindric, and Michael Annett round out the top five. Harrison Burton is reporting a very loose issue with his car.

The caution flag comes out for the ninth time when CJ McLaughlin makes a run through the grass after getting sideways on the track.

The drivers are now in their fuel window to make it to the end of the race.

Daniel Hemric is reporting a strange smell in his car. The crew suspects that Hemric lost an ice bag and it ended up in the tail pipe.

Drivers come down pit road for service with John Hunter Nemechek leading the way off of pit road. The top six drivers come out in the same order they entered pit road.

John Hunter Nemechek’s crew was charged with a member coming over the wall too soon and has to serve a penalty. He will restart the race from the back of the field.

David Starr gets slowed on the track after losing power but gets the car going again.

Daniel Hemric brings the field down for the green falg restart with 51 laps remaining in the race. Daniel Hemric gets a push from Austin Cindric and beats out Justin Allgaier for the lead.

The NBC broadcast crew members predict that after restarting the race in 18th place, John Hunter Nemechek will come back to win the race.

With 48 laps remaining in the race, Daneil Hemric has pulled out to a one second lead on Justin Allgaier; Austin Cindric, Noah Gragson, and AJ Allmendinger round out the top five. John Hunter Nemechek is in 13th place.

With 44 laps to go, Daniel Hemric ahs a lead of over a second on Justin Allgaier; Austin Cindric, Noah Gragson, and AJ Allmendinger round out the top five. John Hunter Nemechek is up to 12th place.

Brandon Brown brings out the tenth caution flag of the race when he spins out and gets into the wall.

Leaders come down pit road for service. Several other drivers also made a pit stop for that last set of sticker tires. Taking only two tires, John Hunter Nemechek wins the race off of pit road.

Staying out on the track, Harrison Burton leads the race and will bringthe field down for the green flag restart. A non-playoff driver, John Hunter Nemechek wins the race. Nemechek joins Kyle Busch, Christopher Bell, and Ty Gibbs as a winner in the Joe Gibbs Racing number 54 car.

And for the 10th time, Daniel Hemric finishes second. With that race, Daniel Hemric ties with Dale Jarrett for the most second place positions…before winning a race. Hemric has yet to win an Xfinity Series race.
