After 18 months in the dark, Broadway has finally begun to open shows with some strict protocols designed to keep cast, crew, and audiences safe.

But despite all of the caution, some breakthrough cases were detected in vaccinated company members in the course of testing.

As a result of the positive cases, the show was cancelled for September 29. “Aladdin” announced that refunds for the cancelled show were available at the point of purchase.

Disney Theatrical has announced that the show will go on and resume performances on September 30 after no new positive cases have been detected in the past 24 hours.

“Aladdin” is the first Broadway production since the return to have an issue with the Covid-19 virus. All cast, crew, and audience must be vaccinated to enter the theatre with everyone except performers on stage must have their faces covered while inside the building.
