Race two of the triple header at Bristol Motor Speedway is the final race of the regular season for the Xfinity Series with the Food City 300.

JR Motorsports team mates Noah Gragson and Justin Allgaier sit on the front row with Gragson as the pole istter. Fellow JR Motorsports driver Michael Annett has re-injured his surgically repaired leg and is out of the race. Josh Berry is climbing behind the steering wheel of the number one JR Motorsports car.

Currently AJ Allmendinger leads the points race with 993; Xfinity Series reigning champion Austin Cindric is just five points behind with 988 points. However, when it comes to race wins, Cindric leads the way with five; Allmendinger has three wins this season. Only three spots are open to fill out the 12 drivers in the playoffs.

After starting the race from the back of the field, Josh Berry has moved up 13 spots to 27th on lap 10.

Lap 3, leader Daniel Hemric encountered slower traffic and begins lapping cars. There are 32 cars on the lead lap.

Lap 36, Justin Allgaier takes advantage of the slower traffic and passes Daniel Hemric for the lead.

Lap 39, Justin Allgaier leads the race with Justin Haley in second; Daniel Hemric, Austin Cindric, and Noah Gragson round out the top five. AJ Allmendinger is in the top 10 in ninth.

NASCAR displays the yellow flag for the competition caution on lap 41.

Few drivers take advantage of the caution and come down pit road.

Leader Justin Allgaier has some debris on his grille but was unable to get the debris off by coming up on the bumper of the pace car.

There is a gas can on the track that is spilling fuel on the track from Spencer Boyd’s car. He will have to restart the race from the back of the field foe leaving pit road with equipment.

Lap 56, Justin Allgaier leads the race with Daniel Hemric on his bumper; Noagh Gragson and Justin Haley battle for third.

Lap 59, Sam Mayer takes fifth from AJ Allmendinger.

Lap 62, there are 30 cars on the lead lap.

Lap 64, Justin Allgaier has a lead of nearly half a second on Daniel Hemric; Noah Gragson, Justin Haley, and Sam Mayer round out the top five.

Lap 77, Justin Allgaier leads the race with Daniel Hemric in second; Noah Gragson, Justin Haley, and Sam Mayer round out the top five.

Josh Berry’s number one car is smoking. NASCAR has black flagged the driver and he will have to come down pit road.

The caution flag comes out on lap 103 after Tommy Joe Martins spins out.

Matt Mills brings out the fifth caution flag of the race when he gets stopped on the track on lap 111. Mills reports that he has no control of the car. Matt Mills showed his frustration at Spencer Boyd.

Lap 147, leader Justin Allgaier has encountered a lot of slower traffic and must carfullly negotiate around them to keep the lead.

Lap 197, After getting caught speeding on pit road, Justin Allgaier has moved up to 16th.

Lap 224, Same Mayer leads the race but Austin Cindric is coming up for the challenge for the lead. Justin Allgaier has enetered the top 10 in eighth place.

Lap 229, the top five are Sam Mayer, Austin Cindric, Daniel Hemric, Riley Herbst, and AJ Allmendinger.

Lap 230, Austin Cindric battles Sam Mayer for the lead and takes the top spot.

There are 22 cars on the lead lap.

Lap 233, the top five are Austin Cindric, Sam Mayer, Daniel Hemric, Riley Herbst, and AJ Allmendinger. Justin Allgaier is in sixth place.

Lap 236, Austin Cindric has pulled out to a one second lead on Sam Mayer.

The ninth caution flag comes out on lap 238 when David Starr and Tommy Joe Martins make contact and spin out. Starr reports that he can’t get the car to turn.

With 46 laps remaining in the race, Austin Cindric has a lead of over a second and a half on Sam Mayer.

Lap 269, Austin Cindric is mired in traffic; Sam Mayer has closed the gap on Cindric to under half a second with Justin Allgaier on Mayer’s bumper.

There are 18 cars on the lead lap.

Twenty five to go, Sam Mayer battles with Austin Cindric for the lead but Cindric holds on to the lead.

With 22 laps to go, Justin Allgaier challenges Sam Mayer for second.

Leader Austin Cindric has pulled out to a one second lead as Sam Mayer and Justin Allgaier battle for second place.

There are only 16 cars on the lead lap.

Ten to go, Austin Cindric has once again caught up to lapped traffic.

Nine to go, Austin Cindric has a lead of over a second on Sam Mayer, Justin Allgaier, AJ Allmendinger, and Daniel Hemric round out the top five.

Just six laps remain in the race, Austin Cindric has a one second lead on Sam Mayer with 13 cars on the lead lap.

The caution flag comes out with just four laps remaining in the race when Sam Mayer and Justin Allgaier make contact and spins out Mayer making contact with Josh Williams.

The race goes into overtime.

Austin Cindric brings the field down for the green flag overtime shootout from the outside lane with AJ Allmendinger alongside on the inside lane. Cindric edges out for the lead but AJ Allmendinger comes up for a battle, Justin Allagier makes it a three wide battle.

AJ Allmendinger edges out for the win in a battle for the lead that sent him sideways across the finish line. Allmendinger has to go to the infield care center before he can go to victory lane.

AJ Allmendinger is also the regular season champion for the Xfinity Series.

Second place driver Austin Cindric said that it was just racing. He noted that he hated wrecking but added that the fans love it. He was booed and cheered within a few moments of each other.

The 2021 playoff drivers are Austin Cindric, AJ Allmendinger, Justin Allgaier, Noah Gragson, Justin Haley Daniel Hemric, Jeb Burton, Harrison Burton, Myatt Snider, Brandon Jones, Riley Herbst, and Jeremy Clements.

Austin Cindric is listed as the number seed simply becaause he has five wins to Allmendinger’s four. Both drivers ahd the same number of points at 2044.

AJ Allmendinger noted that it was crazy at the end; that it’s Bristol baby and that’s what it’s all about. He called it a dream come true. Race winners at Bristol get a sword. Noting that he is almost 40, Allmendinger said that he is driving every lap like it’s his last one because he doesn’t know when it will end.
